MY TEN ESSENTIALS

One of my favorite series on Youtube is GQ's Ten Essentials. I love knowing which products people (in this case, male actors and celebrities) deem their "never fails," their "can't live without." If I ever were to be on GQ to show my 10 essentials, it would be the below:

1. PEN

I already wrote my affinity for pens a while back, so this item shouldn't be much of a surprise! I would specifically keep a Bullet Fisher Space Pen for its petite size, making it easy to carry around.

2. POST-ITS

Related to carrying a pen, I would carry a pack of post-its as well. I actually got this tip from Charles Gross who said that he always has post-its in his bag in case he needed to write something down or give information to somebody on hand. 

3. SUNGLASSES

It took me a REALLY LONG TIME to find a pair of sunglasses that wouldn't fall off my face. I have a low nose bridge, and most glasses / sunglasses frames are made for people with high nose bridges. My Prada frames have a slight cateye which adds character to the fully black sunglasses.

4. WALLET

My wallet was a surprise Holiday gift to me from my first boss at my non-profit internship. She even customized it with with an N keychain, which is just so thoughtful! Surprising for my personality, my blue wallet with gold hardware (same style here) will be the wallet I use FOREVER!!!

5. CASHMERE SWEATER

I actually always carry a cashmere sweater when I know I'll be out for a period of time. Whether it be day trips or commuting to and from work, I have my Quince Cashmere Sweater in my bag. I get cold easy, and a cashmere sweater is light enough to carry around and super chic.

6. BASS WEEJUNS

My most worn pair of shoes are my Bass Weejun loafers. Weejuns are the original penny loafers, dating before the Gucci Horsebit Loafer. Its leather upper and rubber sole make it an easy shoe for any cobbler to repair, which is convenient as someone who beats up their shoes but also wants to maintain them.

7. HAIR CLAW CLIP

Since I have layers, I prefer using a clawclip rather than a hair tie as hair ties don't grab all of my hair and keep them out of my face.

8. ALCOHOL PADS

In case of cuts and to dry out pimples. Also works as a hand sanitizer wipe!

9. CANDLES

When I wind down for the night, I like to have minimal overhead lights on. As such, I burn a candle. Right now I'm burning a Her Company candle and Jo Malone's Blackberry and Bay. 

10. TRUMPET MOUTHPIECE

Core to my being is being part of band and having played the trumpet for 9 years. I carry a mouthpiece with me as a momento, and for the occasion when I'm bored and want to use it as a kazoo.
